Amy Diamond
Founder of F.I.N.SEA Adventures and Lead Instructor
Amy established F.I.N.SEA Adventures and Lil’ Guppies Swim School to share her passion for education and water of all forms with others. Amy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Master of Arts in Education and California State Teaching Credentials. With over 12 years of teaching swim lessons under her fins, Amy founded Lil' Guppies™ to incorporate her own experience and instructional style to her favorite sport and pastime, and share the joy it has given her with those around her. Amy swam competitively for 16 years and has coached age-group swim teams on both the east and west coasts. Amy has been CPR and 1st Aid Certified since 1994 and is also a certified lifeguard.
In addition to running F.I.N.SEA Adventures, Amy substitute teaches and tutors students with special needs. She is also co-founder/president of F.I.N.SEA Foundation (www.finsea.org), a non-profit organization focused on bringing marine and environmental science education to underserved youth and the public community. An avid yogi and health devotee, she completed training to instruct kids and family yoga in early 2008 and was recently asked to join the board of "VibeHolistic", a movement launched in 2007 to provide yoga, health, fitness and sustainable living programs to African American and Latino communities. When not working, Amy can be found playing in the ocean, trying a new yoga class, hiking, or traveling, and is rarely found without her ipod
